‘Snowman’ is a song that we have always wanted to release but has been continually put back by a combination of bad timing, illness and the pandemic.
Recorded in isolation. The way we did it was we had a rough phone recording from a band rehearsal on August 31st 2020 and we used that as the guide. The drums were recorded first in Joe’s garage on 28th March 2021. Pada then did the bass parts at home. Gordon Mac added the various keyboard sounds and then Ronnie added the guitars – acoustic and electric. Gordon D recorded sleigh bells, reindeer bells, Japanese tuned bells and school bell and Pada the angelic chorus in their respective front rooms. The vocals by Joe were recorded at Doug’s house on 17th May when lockdown finally allowed. The final mix was cleared on 1st June.
